SJ Myanmar will be launching its inaugural webinar, titled the “Fire Safety Challenges in Building Design & Best Practices in Myanmar”, via a Zoom session on 12 November 2020 (Thursday) at 2 PM (Myanmar time).


The speakers are Mr. Christopher Tan, Managing Director of SJ Fire Safety Consultancy, and Mr. Thein Tun Oo, Director of the Myanmar Fire Service Department who will share their insights on the importance of regulating fire safety for buildings. Both speakers will also introduce the best practices in fire safety designs as well as pragmatic fire safety solutions that will help to address the challenges faced by designers to comply with the necessary regulations in Myanmar. Mr Tony Yang, Managing Director from NVIH Group, will be the moderator for the session.


The sharing will be supplemented by a panel discussion and a Q&A session. Joining Mr Tan and Mr Thein as panelists are Mr. Hla Min, Principal Architect, and Mr. Thuya Win Tin, Principal Engineer (M&E), from the Surbana International Consultants (Myanmar) Co., Ltd. Collectively, they will share their experiences on submitting fire safety designs for actual projects in Myanmar.

The sixth edition of PropertyGuru Myanmar Property Awards will celebrate the best projects, designs and innovation within the industry in the past year.


The event is part of the regional PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards programme established in 2005.


Nominations and entries open on 20 Jan and the nominations will be closed on 21 August. The deadline of the entry form submission is 28 August 2020.


Site inspections will take place between 7 and 11 September, with the final judging to be carried out on 14 September 2020.
